#3 - The Tree of Fruit

We officially started back with school today. Even though we slept late and didn't get started until about 10:30 a.m. (hehe!) we did get some things done.... :)

Our lesson in our Bible class was on false prophets and imitators/pretenders. That they'll be known by their fruit. The girls drew pictures showing the differences in trees that don't produce fruit and the trees that produce plenty!

Notice Holly's baskets of fruit below her tree :) She said that if she had room she would have drawn 12 baskets representing the 12 baskets of fish left over after Jesus fed the 5000+. She also has a nice little squirrel living in the good tree!

I read a neat thing about a fruit bearing tree the other day - it said that the branches that get weighed down the most that are full of fruit are the ones that are humbled and lowest to the ground. We must become humble and meek servants for Jesus in order to bear fruit like that!

Matthew 7:15-23
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"
