Bella's 3rd Birthday and a Little Mud

Our great niece Bella celebrated her 3rd birthday on March 9th!

She's such a silly and beautiful girlie!!!

We were going through pictures after her party and we found this picture of Ryan (Bella's Daddy.)  He had a Micky Mouse party for his 3rd birthday too!  They didn't even realize until afterwards!

The girls with Miss Harper!  She has grown so much and has the brightest bluest eyes!

We had some late snow at the end of March and silly me thought the ground was more frozen when I went to get some things out of the garage behind our house.  Needless to say I got stuck in our yard.....pretty badly!  After several attempts to get it out with Brian's Jeep he had to keep spinning the tires to get it unstuck!  We tried to patch up the yard, but there are still some marks. :)

Brian had to take the power washer to my van to get all of the mud off! Ha!

March 16th - Aunt Lexie's Passing

My Aunt Lexie went home to be with the Lord on March 16th.
She had battled cancer since May of last year.
I'll always remember her as being so beautiful and so much fun!  When I was little she knew my love for all things stationary and she would send me packages of stickers, note pads, pens, paper clips, etc!!!
She had lived in Atlanta all of my life and when Mama got cancer she came up so often and then after Mama passed we didn't get to see her for many years.  I regret not going down before we did to visit with her.
Her second grandson was born the week before we went there in February.
I'm sure she was so happy to get to see Mama again, but I know that all of her family misses her dearly here!

2 Corinthians 5:8

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

Ruth Hunt Candy Field Trip - Home of the Blue Mondays!

Back in January (just a little behind:) we went on a field trip with our homeschool co-op group to Mt. Sterling, KY to the Ruth Hunt Candy factory and store.  It was a very neat and yummy experience!
We got to go behind the scenes and see how they make their famous Blue Monday candies!  We even got to sample some of their delicious treats.
SUGAR!!!

I'll let the pictures tell the rest:

This lady was doing all of their molded chocolate.

We got to sample some caramel covered marshmallows.
YUM!

It was a great day and one of our most favorite field trips ever!
Haha!  I wonder why?!

Holly's 11th Birthday Celebrations!

For Holly's birthday this year she wanted to go to Perfect North Slopes in Indiana.  So we invited the Lakes crew along with us!  We went earlier in February because all of our schedules were crazy busy and it turned out to be the perfect day to go!
We seriously had a wonderful time!

Then on her actual birthday, the 28th, we had a cake and ice cream get together with some family.
FYI - her cake was suppose to be a Minecraft cake with some grass.  I'm pretty sure Anna and I won't be entering any cake decorating contests anytime soon! :)  Although, it was very tasty!
 Holly and Bella!

Anna made her a Minecraft cake card!  Looked much better than the cake. :)
 Opening her locket!
My three favorite people in the entire world!

Happy 11th Birthday to our baby girl!
