#285 - The Painting of Papaw's Pond

Anna finished Papaw's watercolor painting! She took two different pictures that I had taken of him and his pond and combined them to paint this:

We took it over to Hobby Lobby to have it framed this afternoon and then took it by to surprise him. He loved it! Anna was pointing out what details she had put on there. :)
This makes my heart smile. :D
And there just so happened to be a spare nail on the wall in his room that was strong enough to hold his painting.......temporarily, until he gets home!
Loved this one! :)

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

#236 - A Basket Full of Sunflowers

Our sweet college friend, Amanda, asked Anna to paint her a picture so she could show her art professor! Anna worked very hard on this basket of sunflowers and it turned out beautifully! (I forgot to scan it in, but Anna took a picture of it with my phone on the way to church tonight!)

Psalm 90:17
"And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands."

(Prayer request: A very close friend's little boy was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes today and we'd appreciate the prayers if he comes to mind. After finding out he said, "It'll just be something to add to my testimony!" He is 8 years old and God has a big plan for his life! :)

#140 - Anna's New Friends

Anna got a book for Christmas that teaches you how to draw cartoon faces. She worked on it today while we were at the office and came up with a whole new set of friends!

I'm pleased to introduce Shocked, Grumpy, Hopeful, Sleepy, & Suspicious :D

Have a great weekend!!!

Psalm 34:4-5
"I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed."

#128 - A Day Like No Other

I've had a very blessed Mother's Day today :)
After church, the girls surprised me with a scavenger hunt for my present. I told them not to buy me anything that I'd much rather have them make me something :) So after lunch they had me go out into the yard and I had to sniff out :) their present. I was cold, then wArM, then HOT!
They painted a hydrangea flower for me and then hid it in my hydrangea bush! It was hidden a little better than this, but I wanted to get a picture of it in there.
They are my absolute favorite flower and I LOVE it! I'm gonna have it framed. Here is my card. Yep, I scanned it in. Just recordin' it all for memory's sake. Holly drew the three of them in astronaut suits and it says - "Love you to the moon and back!"
I lurve 'em!
This afternoon we went up to Mama's grave to plant some flowers in the planter that is there. Brian and the girls did all of the work. :)

I love my family so much and am truly grateful to God for allowing me to be a part of their lives. I am a blessed mother and wife and I never want to take it for granted for one second.
Thank you, Lord!Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you."

#23 - Birthdays and Cards

Today is my mother-in-law's birthday!
Happy Birthday, Pam!

This was taken last May :)

Anna hasn't done a lot of painting lately and yesterday I asked her to paint a few cards. The one on the left is for my friend Erica, whose birthday is tomorrow. I'm exactly 20 days older than her and she has never let me live it down! The card on the right was for Nana. Her favorite color is yellow, so Anna added some yellow with her violets!

Here is a wildflower card she is also working on.
(My personal fave!)

She is painting this hibiscus from a picture that was taken in Panama last summer.

Here are a few of her recent paintings/drawings:

She did this birds of paradise flower for my niece.

And she did this giraffe for my great-nephew Aidan!

Whom we can't wait to see in two months when his mommy gets married!!! So hard to believe he's almost 3 now!

Psalm 90:17
"And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands."

(This is the scripture that Anna puts at the end of all of her emails:)

Photoshop and Art!

Again I have neglected my blog. :(
Here is what we've been up to lately!
We have been loving on this little girl a whole big bunch!

I recently got Photoshop and I LOVE it!!!! Still have a lot to learn, but I do LOVE it!!!!

Our dear sweet friend/sister Christis Joy was with us last week so that she and Anna could go to the Mitchell Tolle watercolor workshop. They had a great week and I am so thankful for the opportunity for Anna to be a part of this class. She has learned so much from one of the world's greatest artist!

They held the workshop at a church out in the country and the little creek right beside the church is absolutely beautiful.

Mr. Tolle is such a godly man that has a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus! This relationship that he has with the Lord shines through in each and every piece of art that he creates.
This week Anna worked on a piece for Brian and me. She didn't let us see it until she had it finished........and here it is:

She painted it from the picture that Brian took at Martin's Station when he was studying with Don (Christis' dad) for the Heritage Ministries Daniel Boone tour.

Here is original the picture! We loved her work on it!
