#90 - Tangled Finally :)

When Tangled come out in theaters we just never got the chance to go see it. We don't go to the movies that often and when this came out Narnia - Voyage of the Dawn Treader came out the same weekend, so the girls chose to watch that one. I told them if they'd wait until it came out on DVD that we'd just buy it.

So tonight we ventured to the store and picked it up!

Now they can watch it as much as they want! I'm being called right now to come watch it, so see ya later! :D Have a great Friday!

#89 - The Fruit of the Spirit

We had a special baptism tonight. Normally they do them on Sunday evenings, but tonight we had two to be baptized! This little girl has 6 siblings! I help her mom teach a mission's class on Wednesday nights.

This is our Associate/Youth Pastor. He is filling in while our pastor is recovering from knee replacement.
For a prize in the class tonight Holly got these silly erasers. This is the new fad and the girls have fun collecting them. I'll probably have to devote a post on silly erasers soon!

Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

#88 - Crayon Melting

Today the girls and I did something that we've been meaning to do for a long time :)

Ever have any of those things?!

The girls did a lot of this ^ after school today!

I've had this red silicone mini-muffin pan for a few years and never use it.

Because I dislike it very much:) So I thought we'd put it to some use other than scraping muffin bottoms out of it.

After the girls unwrapped many broken/bad crayons, they broke them into pieces and arranged them in the muffin cups.

I liked this color combination!

Then we set them in the oven that was heated to 175 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. You want them to melt slowly or else it'll be very stinky! You're just meltin' - not cookin' em!

Here is the one I liked.

After they cool for about an hour or so you can pop them out of the pan and voila - they look like this when you turn them over!

The girls thought they were fun and we plan on making some more soon! Next time we're gonna break the crayon pieces up a little smaller so we'll get more of a rainbow effect when they color with them. But these turned out just fine for now. :)

#87 - Asteroids for a Heart Attack

It's been a pretty good Monday! Co-op this morning went well and then we had Sissy come over this afternoon for a little while.

I've got a funny story to share. It has to do with aspirin.

A few weeks ago we were in Sav-a-lot and I saw this bottle of aspirin on the shelf and grabbed them because the ones we had at home had expired. I told the girls (joking of course - hopefully) that if I ever had a heart attack to make sure they give me one of these :) Of course they both were in shock and then I added - hopefully you'll never have to, but it's good to know just in case. Fast forward to our trip to Arkansas last week. My dear sister was driving a tad bit erratic because we were trying to get to the Inn where her eldest daughter was getting married and we were running just a minute late. I kept using "my" brakes on the passenger side and I kept cracking up laughing as my sister stopped "just in time" a few times.

Then we heard Anna's voice from the backseat - "Mom, it's a good thing you bought those asteroids!"

I said, "What?"

Then she repeated herself and then she added, "You know in case you're gonna have a heart attack while Sissy's driving!"

We all started laughing so hard. Then I had to correct her so she wouldn't be expecting to give me any asteroids. Since those are a little more harder to come by!

Job 8:21
"He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy."

#86 - Lazy Sunday

After having such a busy week it was very nice to just go to church worship yesterday morning and evening and have a sweet little nap in between :) Honestly, I didn't even take a picture yesterday! After taking approximately 3000 pictures (Vicki & Trent's wedding, Kelsey's golf signing, & St. Baldrick's) for the last week I thought I'd take a break...haha!

Here is one of Aidan from last week that I hadn't added.

I miss this little cutie!

Also, I learned how to do texturing in Photoshop a couple of days ago and did this with the bridesmaids' bouquets from the wedding. I thought it turned out pretty neat!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

#85 - St. Baldrick's Event

This afternoon the girls and I were able to be part of an amazing event! I was asked by a friend to come and take pictures of the St. Baldrick's Event in our town. She is one of the ladies that organizes it and for the past 3 years she has shaved her head too! In fact her 3 little boys and husband does also. It was a great day and I think she said that they had raised close to $2000! The money goes specifically for children's cancer research. There was a total of 16 volunteers that had all of their hair shaved off! Among that was 2 teenage girls!

(I wanted to include some more pictures, but without permission I was afraid to post any more.)
Our girlies helped out in the face painting and the popcorn also!

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight."

#84 - Date Night

Sissy's b-day is next Tuesday so tonight she invited the girls to Gattitown and for a sleepover! This afternoon I called Brian at work and he said - whatdoya want to do tonight?! So we went to eat at Red Lobster (great coupon HERE) and then we went to watch Lincoln Lawyer. It was a pretty great night. The movie was very much a thriller and had a good plot. There was a little bit of language, but other than that it was pretty good.
My honey and me :)
I've been asked to come and take pictures tomorrow for a St. Baldrick's event where they shave heads of hair for children's cancer research. I don't think I'll be joining in, but I'll have some cute pics to share of other's bare heads!

Psalm 85:10-11
"Love and faithfulness meet together;
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
and righteousness looks down from heaven."

#83 - On a Thursday

We've had a busier than normal day today. This afternoon we went to watch Brian's cousin, Kelsey, sign with Transylvania University to play golf. She is not only beautiful, but very smart and talented also! She has gone to New York and Nashville to record demo songs and has acted in several plays.

My graduation pic is still up in the hallway beside the gym. It was the first time I have actually walked the halls of the school since I graduated! We've been in the auditorium section to watch Kelsey when she was Sharpay in their High School Musical play, but I never got to go into the actual school. Everything was changed and looked sooo different! With it being 16 years later I couldn't imagine it not changing....ha!

Tonight our homeschool co-op held an information night and several of us had our homeschool curriculum on display. This picture was actually a good friend's table, I had already packed my stuff up before I remembered to take any photos! We had a good turnout and it was good to see what other people use in their homeschools as well!

Deuteronomy 6:6-9
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

#82 - She's Finished with the OT!

About a year and a half ago, Anna, decided that she would start reading her Bible through. She would faithfully read nightly before bed. There have been a few times when she didn't - like when we've traveled. But she has stuck with it and last week before we left for Arkansas she finished reading the Old Testament!!! We are so proud of her!
The fact that she took it upon herself to begin reading it through is what I am most proud of!

Now she is excited to start the New Testament!

Father, please bless her and keep her hungry always for Your Word.

Psalm 119:11
"Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You."

#81 - And so it begins....

Softball that is!

Holly went to her first practice today for the Bees. Most of the girls from last years team moved up to the next age group, so Holly is one of the biggest on her team. It's so weird seeing her tower over the other ones. She should still be the little one :( She hit really good during the batting practice and almost hit a car in the parking lot! It scared Brian and me a little. Ha! Tonight after we got home they passed ball with Brian. We're excited to get this season underway!

Ephesians 6:10-11
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes."

#77, 78, 79, & 80 - Vicki & Trent's Wedding in Arkansas

This blog post is going to explode with pictures! I just figured I'd do my 4 days I missed all in one post :)
We left early Thursday morning for Pea Ridge, Arkansas for my niece's wedding. My sister, Starla, moved out there after she got out of the Army 23 years ago.

I was actually driving when we drove through St. Louis so Anna took our traditional picture of the arch. For the past several years we have been driving I-64 through Indiana, Illinois, then through Missouri to Springfield then on down to Pea Ridge. On our way back home (we left directly after the reception) for some reason the GPS had us go a different route on HWY 60 across Missouri. I was asleep and before Brian realized what was going on it was too late to turn around! Ha! It reminded me of the first trips we took out there when Mom and Dad would drive through western Ky and then the Ozarks. It would literally take us 15-16 hours, but now we can make it in 11 hours usually. Our little detour coming home was about the same amount of time. Brian drove halfway and then I drove almost the other half. I am just so grateful for traveling grace there and back!
We always stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Bentonville. Their rates are great and it is always very clean and nice. And this time there was a nice little bouquet of flowers in our room when we arrived!
Thursday when we got there we just hung out at Sis and Mike's house and ate pizza. Then Friday morning I ran some errands with Sis and then went back to the hotel to watch the girls swim for a little while.

Friday afternoon we went to Vicki and Trent's rehearsal.

They got married at a place called The Inn at Carnall Hall on University of Arkansas' campus. It was 106 years old and very beautiful!
Their pastor married them and used his iPad! I thought that was funny.

My familia!

Can't remember what was being said here, but it was funny. :)

Vicki & Aidan

Dad, Sis, & Aidan

They needed a wallet size photo for their guest book, so we used this one :) The Walgreens in Bella Vista rocks!

Sweet kisses!

Sweet sisters!

Trent's Dad and Step-mom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Carino's in Rogers.

They had wanted me to take the photographs, but I suggested that they go ahead and hire someone to professionally take them. I was scared! But I did take the back-up photos....1451 to be exact :)
Her colors were kelly green and guava....so pretty together!

"Love never fails"

Her dress was gorgeous!
She was too!!!

Ariel & Vicki after getting ready.

I made her pose in front of this window and we couldn't stop laughing! She kept saying....what should I look at?!

I tried a little photoshopping on this one of Ariel :)

One of my favorites.

Anna did the guestbook.

The groom and his groomsmen walked into ZZ Top's song "Sharp Dressed Man" It was cute!

There she is!

Sis and the newlywed!

Beautiful couple - inside and out!

Mr. GQ

Aidan, Sis, Trent, Vicki, Mike, & Ariel

Aidan - he is such a cutie! So hard to believe he'll be three years old in 2 weeks.

Arriving at the reception.

The cake. The lady that made this has been on a Food Network cake challenge before!

The groom's cake :)

Father/Daughter dance - so sweet! My nieces have always had a special bond with their Daddy. I am sure Mike had a speech ready to say to her during this dance. She was sobbing almost the entire dance.

Mother/Son dance!

Leaving with sparklers all aglow!

They left on a plane! How neat!

They flew around the area for about 30 minutes after everybody left. Trent surprised her with their honeymoon and didn't tell her until Sunday morning when they got to Atlanta that they would be going to Jamaica! They are a precious couple and we pray God will always bless them in their walk together with Him!

This was right before we left for KY. I miss my sister and wish we could live closer. Vicki & Trent will be living in Atlanta - so I tell Sis that she and Mike should move to Knoxville and be halfway!

It was a wonderful weekend and so very hard to believe that our little Vicki is so grown up. Here is the video we did for their ceremony:
