#37 - Super Sunday

Children's church went great this morning! We had 9 boys and 4 girls :) Before our pastor dismisses all of the children for children's church we have what we call, "Change for Souls." It is where all of the kiddos bring change up to the front and they put them in buckets. The money goes for different missions all throughout the year - state, national, and international; as well as our local pregnancy help center! And it helps teach the little ones to give and help spread the Gospel of Jesus! It is usually one of everybody's favorite moment during the morning service.
I said all of that to say this - It usually looks like a hundred kids run to the front of the church to bring their offering up. So this morning I was expecting a bigger group of little ones! Some also went to the 3-5 age group too.

I taught about the Bible. Where it came from, Who wrote it, why we have it, and the history of translations. I think they really enjoyed the lesson and hopefully they'll remember it!

We made scrolls!

With this glued in the middle:
Funny story of the day: One little boy was wanting more cookies and he said, "The reason I need another one is because you see I have a tooth that is loose and a cookie helps to make it looser!" It was all I could do not to crack up laughing! How could I turn that reasoning down?! Too cute :)

We caught the second half of the Super Bowl tonight after our evening church service and I was pleased to see Green Bay win. Did you know that the "G" on their helmets actually stands for "Greatness"? My hubby told us that last night. I used to be a huge GB and Favre fan, but after his decisions the last couple of years I changed my mind. It was nice to see Aaron Rodgers win and prove himself. Maybe now he'll be out of the shadow of Brett Favre.
Yeah, I do like football :o)

I also didn't know before tonight that Aaron Rodgers was a Christian. Here is an article where he talks about his faith: http://www.athletesinaction.org/news/post/Aaron-Rodgers-Leader-of-the-Pack.aspx

Hope it's a great week!!!

The comment from the little boy made me smile!

The scripture ...3 John 1:4 made me tear up. One of my dear friends claimed that scripture for her children. The 21st of this month will be the 12th anniversary of her homegoing. Her children are so precious! That brought back good memories!
