Monumental Movie - Plymouth, MA - Post from September 2010

**UPDATED**
We were able to attend the Special Live event last night for the Monumental Movie premiere and all I can say is - Wow!

This film is really eye opening and brings a message about how America can be restored. And it does not begin in Washington D.C.! It begins in our homes by honoring and worshiping God there first. In order for this Republic to be what it was meant to be, the order of things must be reversed. God MUST come first, then man, and then government.
Think of government this way - G(od)/over/n/men/t. We must keep everything in line with God for there to be any type of order. It makes me so sad to see that the enemy has done his job at keeping everybody's lives so busy with mundane and mediocre things that the big picture of the way things are truly going is not even a thought. We need to get back to basics and quit allowing time wasters to keep us from our God calling purposes!

My prayer is that this message gets out and that America will repent and return to God!

"If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
I've copied this post from September 2010 when we visited Plymouth, MA for the filming of the new "Monumental Movie" and I wanted to share it again. (For original post you can click HERE)
On Saturday morning we were all excited to be a part of something that we believe in and that we hold dear to our hearts. Yes, it may have been part of a documentary that Kirk Cameron is involved with, but more important than even the scene for the movie was the message involved. Our founding fathers knew that in order for this to be a great nation it must be built on God's principles. They lived, loved, and died fighting for this nation and it's Providential Foundation! God really opened our hearts a few years ago when Bro. Don Pinson (http://heritageministriesky.com/tours/forefathersmonument/) did an American Christian Heritage seminar at our church. He taught about the Pilgrims journey to this new land and the sacrifices that they made. The incredible way that God's hand and provision was in everything that they endured. It is the true history and a message that America needs to hear again and RUN back to!
What is so exciting is now that Kirk Cameron has heard this Truth about our history and sees God's hand in the birth of this nation, he is doing this documentary/movie to help get this message out! Not that it is only going to take this one man to accomplish this, but I believe that God is defintely going to use him to help spread this message.
This is the National Monument to the Forefathers and it is where the movie gets it's title from: Monumental Movie
This monument was finished in 1889. It was built as a memorial to the founding fathers so that it would never be misunderstood that this nation was built on a Christian foundation! There is so much symbolism in this one statue that it would take hours to go through each detail! (I'll hit a few in a minute.)

This scene that they were shooting was really a worship service. There was a praise band playing and as people started arriving you could just feel the presence of the Lord all around us. Kirk Cameron and Dr. Paul Jehle both spoke along with some other special things during the program.

Kirk as he was preparing for his speech.

If you want to hear his speech you can go to this link: http://www.blip.tv/file/4166927

Dr. Paul Jehle and Kirk
Paul who is the Senior Pastor at The New Testament Church has helped Kirk quite a bit with this movie. Paul has been studying and preaching this message for years and has more knowledge about this topic than anyone I have ever known!

We never got to personally meet him, but you could just tell this guy was genuine and so sincere. He was so much a part of this worship service and it was obviously not just for the movie shoot! You can tell he loves the Lord! It was suprisingly warm that morning and this picture was of him taking off a long sleeve shirt and sweater! He left shortly after this for a flight for another appointment.
Now I'll tell you a little more about the monument.
The week before we left Don came to our church and did a message/virtual tour of this monument. The following is just part of what he spoke about that night and also what his son, Joel taught us last year when we came to Plymouth with him.
The statue at the top is Faith. She is pointing her right hand toward heaven to the One True God. In her left hand is the Geneva Bible, this translation led to the Reformation and allowed God's Word to be placed in the hands of common people. If you look closely there are some pages that look like they are being blown by the wind. The wind represents the Holy Spirit. Her left foot is placed upon a Rock - Jesus of course! There is a star on her forehead and it represents wisdom, that can only truly come from God.
There are four statues below Faith and each one has it's own message.
Morality, the basis of government, is also looking toward Heaven. She is holding the 10 Commandments in her left hand for we must have these commandments from God as a basis for what morality is in the first place. She is also holding a scroll that is Revelation in her right hand. She is wearing a priest's breastplate signifying that because of Jesus and His sacrifice we are able to be priests as believers. Praise God we can approach the Throne of God because Jesus is the High Priest and made the way for us.
Law has his hand extended to the criminal saying come and have justice. A person should have internal self-government, but if not then external government must be in place. In his left hand he is holding the Ten Commandments because without them we have no basis for what is right or wrong.
Education is one of our favorites. She is looking up and out to God and out to the next generation. She is also pointing to the Book of Knowledge, because in order to teach her children truth SHE must be the one do so and it must come from the Bible. She has a victory wreath on her head showing that with wisdom and knowledge from God's Word you can have victory.
On the front of each of the four statues is also a scene that is significant to the founders. The one in front of Education is of the Pilgrims signing the Mayflower Compact. The first and one of the most important documents in America's history.
Liberty is a soldier with a dead lion underneath him with it's paw laying over his shoulder. The lion is a symbol of the enemy, because he is roaming about the earth seeking whom he may devour. But he will always be defeated by the One that is stronger!!! The chains on Libery's wrist and foot are broken - Liberty can only be produced when we walk with Jesus! The sword laying in his left hand is still in it's sheath and not being drawn. Liberty has to be protected by the sword, but never drawn to take other's liberties away!
On each side of the statues there are smaller statues that have more symbolism and messages. It is truly the most important monument that we have in America. But it has been hidden and not taken care of for many years. In his speech, Kirk said that when he first saw this monument all he could think about was "how can this not be illegal, because it was so blatantly Christian!"
If you ever plan on taking a trip to New England please - please - please visit Plymouth and see this monument for yourself!

Rainbows, Sunsets, and Buffalo

Brian's uncle recently got some buffalo and Anna took this picture of them a week or so ago. They are beside Brian's grandparent's house and it is so odd to see them roaming around out in the field! Pretty neat.

The sunset tonight was amazing!
And the rainbow was too!

Job 37:21-23
"We cannot look at the sun, for it shines brightly in the sky
when the wind clears away the clouds.
So also, golden splendor comes from the mountain of God.
He is clothed in dazzling splendor.
We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty;
but even though He is just and righteous,
He does not destroy us."

Mama's Owl

We've been going through boxes in our attic while we've been moving our classroom upstairs. Today I came across this owl that Mama had painted while we were on vacation one year in Myrtle Beach. With a huge family we didn't take very many vacations, but I remember going camping in our truck camper several times! Two years we went to Myrtle Beach when I was around 7 and 8 with some cousins and during one of these trips Mama took a painting class at the campground. I remember thinking how ugly it was back then, but now it's beautiful to me! I wonder if I gave her flack for not letting me go with her?! I was pretty spoiled so I'm sure I gave some sort of grief to her. :) Seeing this owl brought back so many memories that I had forgotten about, good memories.

Wonderful Weekend

We've had the most wonderful weekend with Vicki, Trent, & Aidan!
Look at this sweet handsome boy, how can you not have a good time?! :)
We saved one of the chicks for him to name, so this is George! (After Curious George!) So for some of his pictures we had to include some baby chicks.
I love Love LOVE this picture!
His eyes are absolutely gorgeous!
And I totally enjoyed being a substitute Mom-mom!
Saturday we ventured up to the Creation Museum. I think they all enjoyed it!
We had went ahead of Brian, Vicki, & Trent in the museum so we made it out to the gardens and petting zoo before they did.

This trip Anna decided to ride Gomer.
Later on Aidan surprised everyone and decided he wanted to ride her also!

I thought it was very fitting for there to be a rainbow on our way home!
Silly boy! :o)
I am so proud of this precious family and their steps of faith that they are continuing to take. God has some pretty special plans for their lives! Today is their 1 year anniversary; so Happy Anniversary Vicki and Trent!!!

We love you all and can't wait to have you come back up to see us and we'll hopefully get to come see you guys soon too!

Holly's Birthday Celebrations

I wanted to post the celebrations surrounding Holly's big 10th birthday!
I hadn't uploaded pictures from my camera in about 2 weeks [shocking I know!]
We had planned on going to Perfect North again on the Thursday before her bday, but it was storming and then the tubing section closed that following weekend. So we made a trip over to Champs so she could roller skate and play laser tag. :) She also got to go on a shopping trip and pick out her gifts that night.
Then on her actual birthday - the 28th we had a little party for her. She wanted me to bake a cake again and Anna decorated it like her iPod! I thought she did a pretty good job.
Still can't believe our baby girl is already 10 years old.

Christis and Don stopped by that night too! Christis had just gotten back from the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.

We love our girlies and are very blessed that they are growing into such sweet spirited precious young ladies!

Signs of Spring

Even though our winter has been springish, we've had some signs that our actual Spring is coming soon! Brian brought one of our first blooms to me on Tuesday!
Then Wednesday we went to Tractor Supply to pick up a thermometer for our chicken incubator, but we ended up buying a few baby chicks!

I've been collecting some eggs from our hens to incubate, so in about 3 weeks we'll have a whole broader box full of baby chicks! It's just that some will have cost a little more than the others. :o)
