After leaving Birmingham when Brian finished with his class we drove the short 4 hours to Fort Walton Beach!!! We found a great condo on Okaloosa Island on VRBO that had a big discount during April! One of the many bonuses of homeschooling - going on a late spring break and paying half price!
Blue Dolphin #203
The girls loved sleeping in the hall bunk beds!
I'm just going to show random pics from our trip. Some are from my phone camera and others from my big camera.
These were when we first got there!
The condo building only had 10 units and this private heated pool....very nice!
We stayed on the beach everyday until around 2 or 3 and then got ready to go out adventuring!

During lunch one day we saw some dolphins swimming by.
Brian buried the girls in sand!
Then had to pull them out!
We took a quick drive out to Navarre Beach one evening before dinner. They have a wildlife refuge there for birds and turtles. It was so pretty.
This was my favorite beach house on the island.
This was Brian's favorite!
Sunset of the inlet between Okaloosa Island and Destin.
Holly was my sunset buddy. :)
I could've taken sunrise and sunset pictures all day everyday! Ha!
And of course, we found the Bass Pro Shop!
One morning Anna and I got up at about 5:45 a.m. to catch the sunrise.
My sunrise buddy!
While I was snapping away we didn't notice this guy had sneaked up right behind us.
We were trying to figure out how we can move here.
Our favorite meal during our trip was at The Crab Trap!
It was located right by the ocean and the pier.
Holly tried the crab legs. :)
We made it there just in time for the gorgeous sunset!
We had decided to take family pictures on Navarre Beach, so we made a little trip to buy a tri-pod at Best Buy. I also got a wireless shutter remote! So that night I was able to get a few night shots.
Our goal was to get to the beach right at sunrise. We were just a few minutes too late, but we managed to get a few decent pics.
We had a very blessed week and can't wait to go back!

Here they are this year!

They own a ranch and the girls got to ride horses!
There was a beautiful sunset that evening.
We spent the night at their house and then we got up and headed home the next morning. :(
It was a great trip and it soothed the desire in us to travel for a little while.......at least until next month. :)
