A Day at the Creation Museum

We got up early on Saturday morning and headed up north to the Creation Museum. Holly thought of the idea because we're going to be studying the solar system this week in school and the CM has an awesome planetarium show.
When we see this water tower we know we're getting close! I think this was our 5th time going up there and we finally got to see their show, the Men in White. It was a movie/video in their special effects theater that has two angels explaining to a young girl about creation. When they get to certain parts the seats vibrate a little and a squirt of water may sprinkle out from the seat in front of you! It was well worth the 20 minutes to set through it. This crab above was on the outside of the theater.
There is so much information at this museum and it is so worth the drive to get there. Brian and I are thinking about becoming lifetime members when our 5 year membership runs out!

Our planetarium show didn't start for a couple more hours so we grabbed some lunch and decided to go outside afterwards.

I got the special - BBQ sandwich! It was yummy and that whole grain bun made it even better :P

Their gardens are beautiful!

The bright pink lilies were so pretty all around the pond.

Next stop was the petting zoo. They had this new addition's gate locked. Hmm...wonder why?

He was very interesting though.

Holly's ol' buddy.
This was from our first trip:)

Here is the Zonky - a mix between a donkey and a zebra!

They were having rides on Gomer so we asked the girls if they wanted to go. Holly was all for it and Anna decided she'd rather not.

Getting ready.

She was so excited and nervous!

Hold on tight!

She looked so little up there.

Smiling at Anna and Daddy.

What did ya think Holly?

They have markers with scripture all throughout the gardens.

The favorite thing of the girls in the garden - the swinging bridge.

We decided to kill a little time in the bookstore until it was time for our planetarium show to begin. I found a really neat weather book for school and we saved 10% because of our membership!

Next was time for our show and the main reason we came - "The Created Cosmos"

We knew we wouldn't have time to go through the entire museum, but we made a speedy run through :) This is the Garden of Eden and one of my favorite spots.

Here might be the reason! In the middle of this room is a huge (artificial of course) tree that is the Tree of Life (the name of our homeschool!)

The girls as we were leaving.

There is a Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic Outlet just a few miles down the road from the CM, so we stopped by there on our way home. I was able to buy a couple pairs of jeans that are 2 sizes down from what I wore in the spring! Yay! I've got a long way to go, but I'm getting there!

We also stopped in Lexington to eat supper and to look at some new luggage. After that Panama trip our poor suitcases can now be put to rest. We topped off our night at the Cold Stone Creamery!

It was a blessed day and I thank our Creator for the amazing wonders He has done and still continues to do!

I didn't even know there was a "Creation Museum". What a great learning/family time opportunity!

What a great trip! I'd love to go there sometime.

Congratulations on your weight loss! It's so nice to try on jeans and have to go back for a smaller size!
