Thanksgiving Day Traditions

Photobucket

This week for Kelly's Korner ~ Show Us Your Life it is all about Thanksgiving Day traditions. Unfortunately, I only have some pics from my Dad's house last year and was so busy cooking at mine that I didn't snap any!

I usually cook turkey with all the fixins! Brian has always wanted us to have a tradition of eating at our house at least sometime near Thanksgiving (usually a day or two before or after). We always have to go to at least two different houses to eat on Thanksgiving day and the day after.
To be honest I love that we make sure to eat at home as a family.
A lot of work, but we've got our own leftovers!

Here is a list of what I usually cook:

*Turkey (sometimes I cook just a breast)
*Dressing (or stuffing) ((cooked outside the bird!))
*Mashed Potatoes
*Gravy
*Dumplins
*Green Beans
*Hashbrown Casserole
*Mac-n-Cheese (elbow mac, velveeta cheese, butter, milk :)
*Corn or Peas
*Sweet Potato Casserole (Recipe below!)
*Fresh Cranberry Sauce (yummy!)
*Rolls (Sister Shubert's (sp?) frozen from wally world:)
*Pecan Pie
*Banana Pudding
*Seven Cup Salad or Watergate Salad (not every year)

I am looking forward to seeing some new ideas and recipes on this blog tour! If anybody wants specific recipes just let me know.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
