#82 - She's Finished with the OT!

About a year and a half ago, Anna, decided that she would start reading her Bible through. She would faithfully read nightly before bed. There have been a few times when she didn't - like when we've traveled. But she has stuck with it and last week before we left for Arkansas she finished reading the Old Testament!!! We are so proud of her!
The fact that she took it upon herself to begin reading it through is what I am most proud of!

Now she is excited to start the New Testament!

Father, please bless her and keep her hungry always for Your Word.

Psalm 119:11
"Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You."

#63 - Life

It has been a blessed day! Holly and I have kind of been feeling yucky, but I think it's just the normal seasonal allergy/sinus stuff. God love her, she has sneezed a thousand times today :) After working my normal Friday I brought home some supper and we have been relaxing and watching Cars with the girls. Ready for the weekend!
Isabella (our great niece) will turn one tomorrow. So hard to believe.

I just love author Francine Rivers.

Everything that I've read that she has written I can't put down once I began reading. This one included:
It deals with the topic of abortion and how Jesus can give healing to those who have chosen that option. Even though it is a tough topic to read about, it is a story of redemption and restoration that only God can provide. :)

Reading it reminded me of this video I saw on Facebook a few months ago. (It has some crazy music so you may want to turn your speakers down before hitting play :) But it is just amazing to watch! God is Awesome!

Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart
and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

SUYL - Books

For Kelly's SUYL we're sharing our current book list. I've been on a Francine Rivers kick this past few months! With homeschooling our two daughters I don't have a lot of free time to read, but I have managed to squeeze in a few this year.

Her Lineage of Grace series are wonderful! They are historical fiction novellas and aren't very long, but give you a little insight about what their lives may have been like.

The Atonement Child was a really good book. It told about redemption and salvation that only God can give. I won't go into any more details, but definitely check it out!

And in case you're wondering what we've been reading in our school! Carry on Mr. Bowditch is a wonderful biography about Nathanial Bowditch!
Thanks for stopping by and I pray you have a blessed weekend! I'm looking forward to adding some book titles I may be able to read one of these days!!!

Favorite Books

This week over at Kelly's Korner SUYL we are sharing our favorite books and kids books.

Here are a few of mine:

Between the ages of about 9 to 12 I read these Babysitter's Club books non-stop! I think I have almost the entire set!!!

The Saddle Club was another one of my absolute favorites!

Of course the Bible is my all time favorite!

When the girls were little Goodnight Moon and The Berenstain Bears and The Spooky Old Tree were their faves!

I read Redeeming Love about a month ago and fell in love! This is a very emotional, but wonderful book. I just LOVE Francine Rivers!

I love this book by Beth Moore, Feathers From My Nest!

Being a homeschool mom I have to add this dictionary in my list of faves! Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary is a great resource and he used scriptures with many of his definitions! Here is a link to an online copy: Webster's 1828

This summer for Literature the girls and I (Brian too) are going to read Pilgrim's Progress together. I found a study guide at a yard sale a few weeks ago! We're excited!

I love to read, but don't always get the time to. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to finding some new stuff to check out!!!
Many blessings!
